I have written hundreds of songs.
Songs are always rated in quality between good and eh... Few are great, but they do happen when you write enough of them.
Many songs get let go as as soon as they are written just because they suck and a lot of them never get finished because they really suck bad.
Others get finished and played for a while then forgotten about and some are memorable enough to eventually make a multi-track recording.
Only about 75 of my songs have found their way onto a recording of any kind.
The bulk of the songs I've written remain unrecorded. A Significant number of these are among my most memorable material.
I am hoping one day I will make myself record more of them.
I realized the reason I didn't record a lot of these most important songs was because I could not afford to do them justice. I have never had a production budget of any kind, so producing these songs with non-existent production values would only have pissed me off. Opportunities did arise to record some of them but I passed on these because too many strings were attached and they would've come out as half-assed, expensive professional studio recordings. So now all I have is a hand full of nothing, or in some cases, the half-assed, cheap, unprofessional recordings that you can listen to on this site. I've done what I could do on my own, always hoping I could do more down the way.
Now I face a much more serious dilemma and that is of age, forgetting how to play them, which was never an issue before now. I am now releasing the lyric sheets for these unrecorded songs but the melodies simply remain in my memory for now, although the chords are vague or completely gone. So to resurrect these songs would be an epic task with the added dynamic of being a songwriter who always wants to be writing the next song, not going back to rehash old ones. However, some of the songs are worth rescuing in spite of all the issues of recovering them. Stay tuned for details on this forth coming endeavor to post the lyrics for each unrecorded song.
Here is the list of all the unrecorded songs which I can remember that I might possibly like to record some day. They range in dates from the first song I ever wrote in 1977 to songs written up to 1998. Most of the material I wrote after that I have been able to somehow record. It wasn't until 2001 when I actually moved into PC recording with Cubase software. It was 2003 before I actually got past the learning curve and was able to dial in my system enough to start multitrack recording. Since then, I have been able to put together some better quality work even though I have to do all production single-handedly. That takes a lot of man-hours and will power to complete each song. The Song list below will contain a link for each song to it's lyric sheet. From there I may embark on some recovery missions, we'll have to see. There are presently 91 songs on this list.
